The Toronto Markham Airport is a small, private airport located less than 5km north of Markham, Ontario, near Toronto, Canada. Owned and operated by Markham Airport Inc., the airport has a 2,000 foot Asphalt runway for small and private aircraft. The airport is also equipped for night flying training. The airport is also used for glider operations during the spring and fall months. The Markham Toronto Airport is the closest airport to the Claremont Training Area, making it an ideal location for pilot flight training.
Aerial View of the Toronto Markham Airport
Flight Training in the Markham area provides student pilots with access to both controlled and un-controlled airspace for comprehensive and expanded learning. Immediately to the south, the student pilot experiences a highly controlled airspace environment and has the exciting opportunity to practice navigating around Canada’s largest international airport. This provides the student pilot with hands-on experience to help them quickly learn and become proficient at sharing a busy airspace. The flight training student will become experienced and comfortable communicating with Air Traffic controllers on the radio, and the student pilot will learn to fly an airplane while safely flying in the same airspace shared by commercial airline pilots. However, to the north, the student pilot has immediate access to uncongested airspace ideal for practicing their air-work and training exercises.
Accelerated Pilot Training
Canada Flyers’ Accelerated Commercial Pilot Program is an advanced 200 hour training solution. Designed for motivated students, the aspiring pilot earns their private pilot license, commercial pilot license, multi-engine rating, and instrument rating in only 9 months!

Hi
I just wanted to know how old I have to be to start taking the flight training.
In response to your question about how old to start flight training…
You can begin flying as a young teen, solo at age 14, and get your private pilot’s licence at age 17. And pilots continue to fly into their eighties.
This video gives a good overview:

I have 2 more questions to ask.
1. What is the cost for flight training?
2. How long is the flight training?
The cost of flight training will vary depending upon the number of hours you need to master the skills necessary. Transport Canada (TC) has defined minimum hours required before taking the flight test with a TC examiner. Your flight instructor will have a good idea of how “prepared” you are, and he/she will suggest when you are ready for the exam. The total hours required (Minimum) are defined on the TC website:

How long is a intro lesson and how much does it cost?
An Introductory Flight, or Discovery Flight, is typically about 30 minutes and approx. $100. You will meet with a flight instructor, and you will pre-flight the airplane as you learn about the controls and cockpit. You will then take-off and have the opportunity to fly the airplane under the supervision of the flight instructor. Contact the flight school directly for complete details and to book your introductory flight.
