United States Air Force A-10 East Thunderbirds WarthogA-10 Thunderbolt II
The A-10 is more commonly known by its nickname “Warthog” or simply “Hog”.

The Warthog is an American single-seat, twin-engine, straight-wing jet aircraft. It was designed and developed by Fairchild-Republic in the early 1970s. It was designed specifically for the United States Air Force to provide Close Air Support (CAS) to US ground forces. The Hog is ideal for attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets with a limited air interdiction capability. The Warthog also provides airborne forward air control, guiding other aircraft against enemy ground targets.

The A-10 Thunderbolt’s hull incorporates over 1,200 pounds (540 kg) of armor. This aircraft was designed for survivability. It’s extreme protective measures and armor enable the Warthog to continue flying even after taking significant damage.
